12 14 550 Replacing control unit (DME) (S62)

Follow instructions for removing and installing electronic control units. Refer to 12 00 ... Instructions for removing and installing electronic control units .

Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.

Switch off ignition.

Release screws.

Tightening torque, 12 90 4AZ. Refer to ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Remove cover (1) from electronics box.

Unlock plug (1) and detach from control unit (2).

Remove control unit of Digital Motor Electronics (2).

NOTE: Interrogate fault memory of DME control unit.

Check stored fault messages.

Rectify faults.

Then clear fault memory.
