11 12 729 Checking cylinder head for watertightness (S62)

(Cylinder head dismantled)

Seal coolant apertures with special tool kit 11 1 490.

NOTE: Illustration shows cylinder head on cylinder bank 5 to 8.

The following special tools are required for the cylinder head on cylinder bank 1 to 4:

Special tool 11 1 471

Special tool 11 1 477

Special tool 11 1 491

Special tool 11 1 493

Immerse cylinder head in a water bath. Inspection pressure 4.5 bar.

Check cylinder head for escaping air (cracks).
