33 34 900 Removing and refitting/replacing integral active steering gear

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Unscrew bolts (1) from electric parking brake bracket.

Tightening torque 34 41 3AZ .

IMPORTANT: Screws (1) must not be released during removal!

Slacken nut (1).

Tightening torque 33 32 7AZ .

Remove toe link (2) from wheel carrier.

Installation note: 

Do not detach transverse link (2) from integral active steering gear.

Keep toe link to wheel carrier connection clean and free from oil and grease.

Replace nut.

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque 33 34 2AZ .

Undo collar bolts (2).

Tightening torque 33 34 1AZ .

Installation note: 

Observe assembly sequence at end of procedure to prevent integral active steering from jamming during installation.

Release bolts (1) and remove Integral Active Steering towards bottom.

Tightening torque 33 34 3AZ .

Installation note: 

Observe assembly sequence at end of procedure to prevent integral active steering from jamming during installation.

IMPORTANT: Observe assembly sequence.

Fasten screws and nuts on the Integral Active Steering at the rear axle support, see Fig 6.
