32 41 316 Intake pipe to hydraulic pump (from oil reservoir to connecting piece) (vehicles with N63 engine): Notes
DANGER OF POISONING if oil is ingested/absorbed through the skin!
RISK OF INJURY if oil comes into contact with eyes and skin!
Adhere to the utmost cleanliness. Do not allow any dirt to enter the hydraulic system.
Close off line connections with seal plugs.
Recycling:
Catch and dispose of hydraulic fluid in a suitable expansion tank.
Necessary preliminary work:
- Draw off and dispose of hydraulic fluid from oil reservoir
- Remove left INTAKE PORT
- Remove REPLACING CONTROL UNIT
from oil reservoir and place to the side
(Do not pull off the coolant hose on the control unit!)
Loosen hose clamps (1).
Pull off intake pipe (2) on the oil reservoir and on the connecting piece.
Installation note:
Make sure intake pipe is laid without tension and with sufficient distance to adjoining components.
Marks on the oil reservoir and intake pipe resp. intake pipe and adapter must match.
Replace hose clamp.
Tightening torque 32 41 3AZ .
After installation:
- Fill and bleed hydraulic system. See BLEEDING POWER STEERING UNIT or BLEEDING POWER STEERING (VEHICLES WITH DYNAMIC DRIVE) .
- Check line connections for leaks
