51 12 000 Removing and installing complete rear bumper

Attach fabric adhesive tape (1) to inner tail pipes (2) (risk of damage).

Pull tail pipes (2) downwards and release screw with commercially available Torx T55 and ratchet.

Installation:

Tightening torque, see 51 12 2AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Release left/right screws (1).

Version without Park Distance Control (PDC):

Open rear lids.

Lever out trim (2) on wheel arch on left/right and pull off bumper (3).

Version with Park Distance Control (PDC):

Open rear lids (3) for detaching and then close again.

Pull back bumper (1) in right area (2) until plug connection for PDC is accessible.

In right area (2), disconnect plug connection and unclip cable holders.

Version with Park Distance Control (PDC):

Disconnect remaining plug connections (1).

Unclip all cable holders (2).

Feed out cable (3) from bumper (4) and set down on a clean surface.
