51 45 310 Removing and installing (replacing) center trim for instrument panel

Special tools required:

00 9 317 , see 00 9 317 TRIM PANEL WEDGE .

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove center fresh-air grille , see 64 22 164 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING MIDDLE FRESH-AIR GRILLE .

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage!

Carry out the following operation carefully so as to avoid damage.

Tape off instrument panel trim in working area.

Release screws (1).

Lever center instrument panel trim (2) with special tool 00 9 317 at retaining points (3) out of instrument panel trim and pull forwards.

Disconnect plug connections (1) and remove center instrument panel trim (3).

Installation:

Make sure retaining clips (2) are correctly seated on center instrument panel trim (3).

Replace defective retainers.

Remove control panel for heater - A/C system. , see 64 11 376 REMOVING AND INSTALLING (REPLACING) CONTROL PANEL FOR HEATER - A/C SYSTEM .
