51 71 041 Removing and installing/replacing rear left or right wheel arch cover

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove rear wheel, see 36 10 300 REMOVING OR INSTALLING FRONT OR REAR WHEEL .
- Remove trim on rear wheel arch, see 51 71 039 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right wheel arch cover (rear section) .
NOTE:
Work shown on X5 3.0i by way of example, deviations in detail are possible in other models.
Release fastening elements (1 to 3).
Feed out wheel arch cover (4) towards bottom.
Installation:
If necessary, replace defective retaining elements.
Ensure wheel arch cover (4) is correctly seated.
