51 47 000 Removing and installing/replacing front (inside) left or right entrance cover strip

Special tools required:
- 00 9 317 , see 00 9 317 TRIM PANEL WEDGE .
NOTE:
To remove the footwell side trim from the A-pillar, it is only necessary to detach entrance cover strip in the front area. Preliminary tasks are not required.
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove panel for door pillar., see 51 43 150 Removing and installing or replacing trim for left or right door pillar (bottom) .
- Remove entrance cover strip at rear, see 51 43 150 Removing and installing or replacing trim for left or right door pillar (bottom) .
NOTE:
Front seat is shown removed for purposes of clarity.
Detach mucket (1) in area of entrance cover strip (2).
Unclip entrance cover strip (2) with special tool 00 9 317 starting at front.
Installation:
If necessary, replace faulty retainer (3).
If necessary, release clips (4) from vehicle.
Release entrance cover strip (1) at clips (2) and feed out.
Installation:
Lug (1) must not be damaged or missing; if necessary, replace entrance cover strip (3).
If necessary, replace faulty clips (2).
Fit missing clips on entrance cover strip (3).
Fit entrance cover strip (3) with preinstalled clips (2).
