17 11 035 Removing and installing/replacing fan cowl with electric fan (N52/ N52K/ N53)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit
Switch off ignition
Remove intake duct

Automatic only:
Remove front underbody protection . See 51 47 490 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION (CONVERTIBLE) or 51 47 490 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION (COUPE) .

Automatic only:

Release bolt.

Detach cooler (1) for automatic transmission from fan cowl (2).

Unlock plug (1) and remove.

Unclip line (2) from fan cowl.

Detach cable strap (3) from fan cowl.

Release bolt.

Unlock catch in direction of arrow.

Remove fan cowl towards top.

NOTE: Now clear the fault memory.
