51 21 125 Removing and installing/replacing carrier for left or right outside door handle with lock cylinder (Security)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Driver's side only: 

Remove protective mat upper section (1).

Tightening torque: see 22AZ in 51 71 SEALS AND LOOSE BODY PARTS

Installation: 

Shims for fastening protective mat must not jam between screw-in sleeve and screw head.

Remove inner door lock protective cover (1), release screws (2) and (3) to do so.

Tightening torque: see 22AZ in 51 71 SEALS AND LOOSE BODY PARTS

NOTE: Version with Comfort Access/CA: 
CA sensor (4) must not be damaged.

Unlock catches (2) on carrier (1).

Press lock cylinder (5) behind door outer skin (3).

If necessary, disconnect plug on CA module.

Pull carrier (3) towards rear/top until screw (1) of sheet metal slot (2) is free.

Remove carrier (3) for outside door handle.

Installation: 

Seals (1) on carrier (3) must not be damaged.

IMPORTANT: Water drainage channel (2) must not be fouled/clogged.
