52 17 393 Removing and installing/replacing front left or right crash-active head restraint

Incorrect handling may result in triggering of the crash-active head restraint and thereby cause injury.

Switch off ignition!

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Disconnect BATTERY NEGATIVE LEAD
Remove REAR PANEL

Lever out locking clamps (1)

Unfasten plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Feed out wiring harness from head restraint height adjustment and foam material.

Lift out head restraint.
