51 21 280 Removing and installing or replacing door brake on left or right front door

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Close door windows
Remove sound insulation in front area only. See REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SOUND INSULATION IN LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT DOOR and REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING SOUND INSULATION ON LEFT OR RIGHT REAR DOOR

NOTE: Secure front door against falling closed.

Lever out seal (1).

Unfasten screws (2 and 3).

Installation:

E60/E61 tightening torque:

(2) 51 21 9AZ
(3) 51 21 10AZ

E70 tightening torque:

Remove door brake (1) via cutout (2).

Installation:

Following parts of door retainer (3) must not be damaged:

Hinge
Thread
