Initializing Power Window Unit

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2007 MINI Cooper, 2006 MINI Cooper, 2005 MINI Cooper, 2004 MINI Cooper, and 2003 MINI Cooper. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
WARNING: No anti-trapping mechanism.
NOTE: Initialization for a MINI merely involves normalization, i.e. the mechanical end stop of the power window unit is recorded and stored. Learning the characteristic curve is not required due to the lack of an anti-trapping mechanism.
  1. The reference point for initialization is the mechanical stop with the door closed and the window in its uppermost position. To initialize, raise the window glass and keep the switch depressed in the lift position for approx. 5 seconds and then release.
  2. Check initialization:
    • Open door, window glass move down slightly.
    • Close door, window glass moves into "Closed" position.
