17 11 035 Removing and installing/replacing fan cowl with electric fan (N52)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Read out fault memory of DME control unit
Switch off ignition
Remove radiator cover

The E60, E65/N52 have no AUC sensor on the fan cowl. Unlock and disconnect both plugs (1).

Raise fan cowl (2) approx. 3 cm.

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, this work step is shown on the fan cowl after it has been removed.
Fold in left retaining tab (1) in direction of arrow. Remove fan cowl towards top.

NOTE: Check stored fault messages.
Now clear the fault memory.
