Selector Lever In Park Or Neutral

In this condition motion is not transferred to the wheels as both clutches for reverse (2) and forward gears (4) are disengaged.
- The transmission input shaft (1) turns at the same speed as the engine.
- The reverse gear clutch (2) is disengaged.
- The forward gear clutch (4) is disengaged.
- The planetary gears (3) idle around the sun gear.
- As the sun gear does not move, neither does the primary pulley (5), the secondary pulley (7) and, subsequently, the vehicle. See Fig 1 .
