12 14 521 Replacing pulse generator on crankshaft (N12, N14)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Switch off ignition
Read out fault memory of DME control unit

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, the following work step is shown on the engine after it has been removed.

Remove cover (1).

Unlock plug (1) and remove.

Release screw and remove pulse generator.

For tightening torque refer to 13 62 3AZ in 13 62 SENDERS FOR CONTROL UNIT .

NOTE: Check stored fault messages.

Now clear the fault memory.
