51 16 405 Removing And Installing/Replacing Roller Sun Blind On Side Window Of Left Or Right Rear Door

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unfasten screws (2 and 3).

Unclip brush cable (4) and remove roller sun blind module.

Installation: 

Tightening torque for screws.

Tightening torque. See 51 16 MIRRORS, FINISHERS, ASHTRAYS, CONSOLES .

Release screw and remove roller sun blind from brush unit.

Installation: 

Tightening torque. See 51 16 MIRRORS, FINISHERS, ASHTRAYS, CONSOLES .

Feed guide (1) into guide hole (2).

Turn module.

Unclip clips (A) and remove.

Unclip clip (B) (1) and pull out of guide (2).

Remove outer brush cable.

Installation: 

Make sure lug (1) is seated in groove (2).

Pull roller sun blind (1) upwards slightly and remove inner brush cable (2).

If necessary, pull off chest strip (3) towards top.

Installation: 

Make sure lug is seated in groove (4).

Adjusting: 

NOTE: If cover of roller sun blind (1) sags at line (A), this can be corrected by moving bearing (3).

Move roller sun blind (1) electrically into "top" end position.

Release screw (2) and move bearing (3) up or down until cover is taut at line (A).

Tighten screw (3).
