51 16 000 Removing And Installing / Replacing Mirror On Left Or Right Front Door

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Partially lever out cover on door window frame (inside) in front area. See 51 34 160 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING COVER ON DOOR WINDOW FRAME (REAR DOOR) AT INSIDE LEFT OR RIGHT .

Release cable tie (1).

Unlock plug connection (2) and disconnect from control unit (3).

Raise seal (1) slightly and release screw (2).

Press rubber grommet (2) outwards.

Release screws (3) and feed out mirror (4) with cable.

Installation:

Tightening torque. See 51 16 MIRRORS, FINISHERS, ASHTRAYS, CONSOLES .

Connect plug connection (5) with speaker in cover (1).

Replacement:

Due to the thread-tapping screws, the tightening torque of the new mirror is increased by 2 Nm.

Installation:

Following parts of mirror must not be damaged or missing:

Seal on mirror base plate
Sound insulation in front door

Check function.
