17 11 031 Replacing Fan Cowl With Electric Fan (BMW ALPINA B7)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Illustrations show E65/N62: 

Unfasten screws.

Remove front panel (1).

Unlock plug (1) and remove.

Unfasten clip.

Tightening torque: 5 Nm.

Detach charge-air hose (1) from intake pipe (2).

Unfasten clip.

Tightening torque: 5 Nm.

Detach charge-air hose (1) from intercooler.

Feed out charge-air pipe (2) downwards and remove.

IMPORTANT: Charge-air hoses with clamp fastenings must be installed dry and free from grease!
If the charge-air hoses are not fitted dry and without grease, this may cause charge-air system failure!

Release left and right expander rivets.

Unclip line (1) on left and right.

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, the following work steps are shown on the radiator core after it has been removed.

Release screw.

Installation: 

Pay attention to rubber mount (1).

Unfasten screws.

Feed out cover (2) and remove.

Installation: 

Pay attention to rubber mount (1).

Raise fan cowl approx. 3 cm.

NOTE: For purposes of clarity, this work step is shown on the fan cowl after it has been removed.

Fold left retaining tab (1) to fan cowl.

Slowly feed out fan cowl downwards and remove. Do not damage radiator when doing so.
