Removal & Installation

  1. Drain gearbox oil. Remove right axle shaft. See AXLE SHAFTS article. Remove closure plate retaining bolts (1) and remove closure plate (2). See Fig 1 . Remove engine lower stabilizer. Use a screwdriver to lever out radial seal (1) from transmission housing. See Fig 2 .
  2. Use care to avoid damage to transmission casing. To install, use special tool (261080) and special tool (111220) fit seal into casing until the outer seal ring is flush with transmission casing. See Fig 3 . Refill gearbox with oil and check for leaks.
