Removal & Installation

  1. Drain gearbox oil. Remove left axle shaft. See AXLE SHAFTS article. Use a screwdriver to lever out radial seal (1) from transmission housing, using care to not damage the transmission casing. See Fig 1 . Using special tool (261080) and special tool (111220) fit seal into casing until the outer seal ring is flush with the transmission casing.
  2. When pushing output shaft over resistance of snap ring, output shaft must snap audibly into place. See Fig 2 . Refill gearbox with oil and check for leaks.
