11 22 500 Removing And Installing Or Replacing Flywheel (N12)

Special tools required:
- 11 9 590
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove transmission.
- Remove clutch.
Lock flywheel with special tool 11 9 590 .
Flywheel for automatic transmission.
Release flywheel bolts (1).
Tightening torque: See ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
Installation:
Flywheel (1) is secured with an alignment pin.
Fit new flywheel screws.
Clean crankshaft thread for flywheel screws.
Flywheel for manual gearbox.
Flywheel with and without dual-mass: release bolts (1).
Installation:
Flywheel is secured with a dowel pin.
Fit new flywheel screws.
Tightening torque: See ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES .
Installation:
Sensor gear (1) is loose on crankshaft and is first secured to flywheel.
Dowel pin (2) for securing sensor gear/flywheel.
Assemble engine.
