Front Axle (With Spring Strut Shock Absorber): Installation

To install, reverse removal procedure. Centering pin of support bearing must lie in bore of wheel arch and marking must be noted. Replace all self-locking nuts and tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
When installing front axle support to engine support, tighten down rear screws (1) first. See Fig 1 .
When installing engine mounts and control arm bracket, check for damaged threads. Damaged threads can be repaired with Helicoil M12 x 1.5 threaded inserts. Tighten to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
Install reinforcement plate. See REINFORCEMENT PLATE .
Install ABS pulse generator line, brake calipers and engine underguard.
Check and adjust front wheel alignment. See SPECIFICATIONS & PROCEDURES article in WHEEL ALIGNMENT.
