51 16 000 Removing And Installing/Replacing Mirror On Left Or Right Front Door

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Detach cover on door window frame in area of mirror. See 51 32 160 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING HOUSING COVER ON INNER LEFT OR RIGHT DOOR WINDOW FRAME .

NOTE: Secure mirror against falling off.

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Press rubber guide (2) to one side and release screws (3).

Tightening torque. See BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES .

Installation:

Make sure grommet for plug connection (1) is correctly seated

Replacement:

Due to the thread-tapping screws, the tightening torque of the new mirror is increased by 2 Nm.

Remove mirror (1) outwards.

Installation:

Check function.

Acoustic insulation (1) must not be damaged.
