51 15 360 Removing And Installing Rubbing Strip On Rear Door On Left Or Right

Special tools required: 

NOTE: Minimum object temperature of rubbing strip and rear door ≥ 18°C.
If this temperature is not achieved, the components must be preheated.

Removing rubbing strip: 

Heat rubbing strip (1) with hot air blower and detach with special tool 00 9 317  from rear door.

Cleaning rear door: 

For cleaning, use a fluff-free disposable cloth or a clean cleaning cloth.

Clean adhesive area of rear door with spirit.

Air drying time at least 1 minute.

Do not grip bonding surface.

Fitting rubbing strip: 

Pull liner* off rubbing strip (1).

Place rubbing strip (1) over holes (2) in rear door and align.

Fit rubbing strip (1) and press down firmly with special tool 51 0 300  over entire adhesive area.

*Liner is the protective film on adhesive tape.
