41 12 535 Stripping Operations - Replacing Complete Luggage Compartment Floor (Tail Panel Removed)

NOTE: Owing to the different engine variants and equipment specifications, not all the components are taken into consideration.

The following list basically represents the removal sequence.

Remove exhaust system (job number: 1800020)
Remove heat shield
Remove air supply system (job number: 37 22 540)
Remove rear left and right wheel arch cover (job number: 51 71 041)
Remove positive battery cable (job number: 61 12 002)
Partially detach wiring harness and lay to one side

Release nuts for sealing flange connection (1). Remove sealing flange connection with positive battery cables (2) and set aside

Installation note: Make sure gasket is correctly installed. (watertightness). Replace gasket if necessary. Replace M5 nuts for sealing flange connection.

IMPORTANT: Risk of damage! Protect positive battery cables against mechanical damage.
