Special tools required:

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove radiator cover.
Remove engine cover.

Detach fan wheel with special tools 11 5 050 and 11 5 040 (union nut) from water pump. See 11 5 040 OPEN-ENDED SPANNER WAF 32

IMPORTANT: Left-hand threads.

Remove fan wheel with fan coupling from water pump.

Tightening torque 11 52 1AZ . See11 52 FAN

Remove fan clutch in conjunction with fan cowl.

Installation:

Set 30 Nm when using special tool 11 5 040. See 11 5 040 OPEN-ENDED SPANNER WAF 32

Unfasten screws and detach fan from fan coupling.

Assemble engine.

Check function of fan clutch.
