51 16 405 Removing And Installing/Replacing Roller Sun Blind On Side Window Of Left Or Right Rear Door

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove REAR FUNCTION CARRIER 

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Unfasten screws (2 and 3).

Unclip brush cable (4) and remove roller sun blind module.

Installation: 

Tightening torque: 51 16 10AZ  . See MIRRORS, FINISHERS, ASHTRAYS, CONSOLES for specs.

Tightening torque: 51 16 11AZ  . See MIRRORS, FINISHERS, ASHTRAYS, CONSOLES for specs.

Release screw and remove roller sun blind from brush unit.

Installation: 

Tightening torque: 51 16 12AZ  . See MIRRORS, FINISHERS, ASHTRAYS, CONSOLES for specs.

Feed guide (1) into guide hole (2).

Turn module.

Unclip clips (A) and remove.

Unclip clip (B) (1) and pull out of guide (2).

Remove outer brush cable.

Installation: 

Make sure lug (1) is seated in groove (2).

Pull roller sun blind (1) upwards slightly and remove inner brush cable (2).

If necessary, pull off chest strip (3) towards top.

Installation: 

Make sure lug is seated in groove (4).

Adjusting: 

Move roller sun blind (1) electrically into "top" end position.

Release screw (2) and move bearing (3) up or down until cover is taut at line (A).

Tighten screw (3).
