51 11 050 Removing and installing/replacing carrier for front bumper trim (M6)

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove front bumper trim (M6) .

Disconnect plug-in contacts (1).

Unclip catches (1) on air duct. Remove air duct in direction of arrow.

Installation: Catches (1) on air duct (2) must not be damaged.

IMPORTANT: Carrier must not be separated from deformation elements.

NOTE: The operation is described on the left side; proceed in the same way for the right side.

Release screw (1). If necessary, drill out rivets (3). Unfasten screws (2). Remove carrier (4) with deformation element towards front.

Installation: If necessary, use screws and locking pins (instead of rivets) to secure deformation element. Tightening torque, see 51 11 4AZ in 51 11 FRONT BUMPER .

Replacement: Release screws (1) and remove holder (2) with fanfare horn. If necessary, release screws (3) and remove holder (4). If necessary, remove impact absorber.
