23 42 562 Replacing clutch actuator (GS7S47BG SMG)

IMPORTANT: Before working on hydraulic system:
  • Reduce pressure in hydraulic system by means of Service Functions in DIS Tester (Replacement and Repair) 
  • Disconnect HYDRAULIC PUMP RELAY  in electronics box

    Do not reconnect relay for entire duration of repair work

IMPORTANT: After working on hydraulic system:
  • Perform bleeding using DIS Tester, refer to Service Functions in DIS Tester (Replacement and Repair) 

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

Release banjo bolts (1).

Tightening torque: 18 Nm

Installation: 

Replace seals.

Release screws (1).

Tightening torque: 3.5 Nm

Release cable tie (2).

Remove wiring harness from bracket.

Remove clutch position sensor.

IMPORTANT: Only cable ties which are resistant to high temperatures (approx. 140 °C) may be used to secure the cable.

Installation: 

Before installation, check correct position of O-ring (1).

O-ring must be pushed on up to flange.

When the sensors are replaced, the cable must be secured without tensile stress.

Even when the cable tie next to the marking is being positioned.

Unscrew nuts (1).

Tightening torque: 25 Nm

Remove clutch actuator.
