15.3 Rear Axle Faults

REAR AXLE FAULTS SPECIFICATIONS

Fault Cause Remedy
1. Camber deviation
  1. Vehicle not in normal position: spring deflection too great
  2. Rubber mount on rear axle
  3. Rear axle carrier deformed
  4. Control arm deformed
  5. Traction strut deformed
  6. Distortion in the floor assembly
  7. Swinging arm deformed
  1. Correct height level
  2. Replace rubber mount
  3. Check rear axle carrier and replace, if necessary
  4. Check control arm and replace, if necessary
  5. Check traction strut and replace, if necessary
  6. Repair body
  7. Replace swinging arm
2. Rear wheel position is not correct
  1. Rear axle carrier has been shifted laterally
  2. Distortion in the floor assembly
  1. Check the rubber mounts on the rear axle carrier and replace, if necessary
  2. Repair body
3. Toe deviation
  1. Vehicle not in normal position, i.e. spring deflection too great
  2. Rubber mount in rear axle carrier defective
  3. Control arm deformed
  4. Rubber mount and swinging arm defective
  5. Rear axle carrier deformed
  6. Traction strut deformed
  1. Correct height level
  2. Replace rubber mount
  3. Replace control arm
  4. Replace swinging arm
  5. Check rear axle carrier and replace, if necessary
  6. Check traction strut and replace, if necessary
4. Deviation from the geometrical drive axis Requirement: Total wheel toe is correct
  1. Distortion in the floor assembly
  1. Repair body
