51 12 000 Removing and installing complete rear bumper (from 09.01)

Loosen screws (1).

Release screws (2) on impact absorber.

Installation:

Tightening torque, refer to 51 12 2AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - 325I, CI & XI - E46 .

CAUTION: In the following work step, the link (1) on the catch must not be damaged.

Carefully press detent lug (1) downwards.

Detach bumper.

Installation:

If necessary, carefully press detent lug (1) upwards.

Lift out wheel arch liner (1).

Pull bumper (2) straight towards rear.

If necessary, disconnect plug connections on PDC sensors.

Installation:

Adjust all-round gap measurement (X) uniformly between bumper and body cutout.
