Drive Axle Shaft (Left): Installation

Replace collar nut. Secure collar nut after tightening by peening on flat area. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Replace self-locking nuts. Replace circlip. See Figure . Depress Special Tool (24 8 120) on shaft seal. Ensure tool fits over sealing ring lip so that sealing ring is protected when drive shaft is inserted. Insert drive shaft in seal and remove special tool by pulling handle. See Fig 1 . Reassemble drive shaft. Push drive shaft over resistance of snap ring. Drive shaft must snap audibly into place. Add transmission oil and check for leaks.
