00 11 229 Oil change in manual gearbox

Recycling: 

Catch and dispose of escaping transmission oil.

Observe country-specific waste disposal regulations

NOTE: Gearbox is at normal operation temperature.

Gearbox oil,

Capacity, refer to MINI OPERATING FLUIDS .

The vehicle must be parked on a level surface in the workshop to fill the transmission with oil.

Unscrew oil drain plug (1) and allow oil to flow out completely.

Clean oil drain plug and reinstall.

Tightening torque 23 00 1AZ .

Unscrew filler/fill level monitoring connector

(2) and fill gearbox until oil overflows. Allow excess oil to drain and reinstall filler/fill level monitoring connector.

Tightening torque 23 00 1AZ .

IMPORTANT: Never loosen or turn the thrust screw (1).
