17 11 035 Removing And Installing/Replacing The Fan Cowl With Electric Fan (N63 B40/B44 O 1)

Necessary preliminary work:

Read out the fault memory of the DME control unit.
Switch off ignition.
Remove CROSS CONNECTION .
Remove front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Only F12 with four-wheel drive:

Remove front stiffening plate.

Disengage the coolant line (1) from the fan cowl.

Release screw (1).

Detach coolant lines from fan cowl.

Unlock the connector (2) from fan cowl and pull it off.

Release screw (1).

Tightening torque: 17 10 3AZ .

Release holder (1) for auxiliary water pumps from fan cowl and module carrier to the top.

Unclip fan cowl (1) at clamps (2) on left and right, thread out in upward direction and remove.

Installation note:

Insert retaining tab (1) at bottom on module carrier.

NOTE: Check stored fault message.
Reassemble the vehicle.
Clear diagnostic fault entries from fault memory.
