51 16 206 Removing and installing / replacing center armrest

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

• Remove rear storage compartment. Refer to 51 16 216 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR CENTER CONSOLE .

Release screws (1) at sides.

Release screws (2) and lift out center armrest (3).

Tightening torque, refer to 51 16 5AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .

Replacement: 

• Remove cover for center armrest. Refer to 51 16 196 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING COVER FOR CENTER ARMREST .
• Remove storage tray (1).
• Release screw (2) and remove cover (3).
