51 16 216 Removing and installing rear center console

CAUTION: Do not pull handbrake gaiter to release from console. Handbrake gaiter clips must be released from console to enable removal.

Release handbrake gaiter clips (1) (left hand shown, right hand side is symmetrical) and move handbrake gaiter to expose cable tie (2) securing handbrake gaiter to handbrake grip.

Remove cable tie and discard.

Install hint:

Ensure cable tie is correctly positioned on handbrake gaiter and grip.

Release handbrake grip finisher clips (1) and remove finisher (2).

Release handbrake grip locking tab (3) and remove handbrake grip.

NOTE: Handbrake grip is located on a keyway (4) and will only fit one way.

Remove handbrake gaiter.

Remove console securing screw (1).

Pull console upwards to release four securing clips.

Disconnect heated front seat switches (if fitted).

Disconnect RDW switch.

Remove console.

CAUTION: Ensure wires are not trapped when refitting console.
