12 41 020 Removing and installing/replacing starter motor

Necessary Preliminary Tasks:
- Switch off ignition.
- Disconnect battery. Refer to 12 00 DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY .
- Remove exhaust manifold. Refer to 11 62 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SEALING/REPLACING EXHAUST MANIFOLD .
Unscrew bolt (1).
Release retaining clip (2).
Remove heat shield.
Tightening torque, refer to 12 41 1AZ in ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .
Disconnect battery positive lead (1).
Tightening torque, refer to 12 41 2AZ in ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .
Unscrew nut (2).
Tightening torque, refer to 12 41 3AZ in ENGINE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .
NOTE:
Pay attention to cable routing. (Do not lay cable over solenoid switch.)
