Drive Axle Shaft (Right): Removal
Remove wheel. Remove wheel speed sensor. See WHEEL SPEED SENSOR . If necessary, remove fan for power steering. See POWER STEERING FAN . Drain transmission oil. Release collar nut while pressing brake pedal to floor. See Figure . Remove screws and remove brake caliper. See Figure . Tie back brake caliper. Remove nut and detach tie rod end with Special Tool (323 090). See Figure . Release nut and use Special Tool (321190) to detach control arm from steering knuckle. See Figure . Remove bolts. See Fig 1 . Remove circlip and detach inner drive shaft joint from transmission. See Figure . Remove screw and remove steering knuckle from spring strut. See Figure . Support steering knuckle. Lift out drive shaft with steering knuckle and remove drive shaft from steering knuckle.
