00 00 251 Engine oil service including additional service (W10/W11)

IMPORTANT: Protect alternator and belt drive against engine oil. Cover alternator with suitable apparatus (risk of damage) .

Recycling:

Catch and dispose of used oil in a suitable container.

Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.

Remove oil filter housing (1).

Tightening torque, refer to 11 42 3AZ in ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER & COOPER S (1.6L) R50/W10 .

NOTE: Release oil filter housing slowly enable oil to flow back into the oil sump.

Oil filter element MINI ONE and MINI COOPER (W10) up to now .
Replacement oil filter for all MINI ONE and COOPER (W10) and MINI COOPER S (W11) engines

Installation:

The new oil filter element (2) must be fitted in the (W10) engines with a higher amount of force.

The inside diameter is somewhat narrower and slightly higher so that increased pressure is needed to refit the oil filter cap.

NOTE: MINI ONE and COOPER (W10).

Filter housing cap.
Spring.
Plastic guide sleeve.
Oil filter element.

IMPORTANT: Guide sleeve and spring must not be removed. Failure to comply with this instruction will result in low engine oil pressure (engine damage).

Installation:

MINI COOPER S (W11) oil filter housing cap (1) without guide sleeve and spring.

Installation:

Replace filter element and sealing ring.

Detach filter element from oil filter cap.

Press in a new filter element.

IMPORTANT: Insert sealing ring in the designated groove only (see arrow).

Apply a light coating of engine oil to sealing ring.

Remove oil drain plug (1).

Tightening torque, refer to 11 13 1AZ in ENGINE - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER & COOPER S (1.6L) R50/W10 .

Installation:

Replace screw with seal.

Assemble engine.

Refer to ENGINE - TECHNICAL DATA - COOPER & COOPER S (1.6L) R50/W10 .

Check filter housing and oil drain plug for leaks.
