11 28 050 Removing A/C compressor drive belt

Special Tools Required:
- 11 8 280
- 11 8 390
NOTE:
If the drive belt is to be reused, the direction of travel must be marked and the drive belt reinstalled accordingly.
Remove tank venting valve. Refer to 13 90 500 REPLACING TANK VENTING VALVE .
Relieve tension on belt with special tool 11 8 390 and lock belt tensioner with special tool 11 8 280.
Remove underpan. Refer to 51 47 490 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION (ENGINE) .
Remove drive belt.
Installation:
Check drive belt for coolant and oil residues, replace if necessary.
CAUTION:
High forces are effective on the drive belt clamping fixture; make sure the locking pin is completely inserted. If the drive belt has come into contact with hydraulic fluid, it must be replaced without fail.
Course of drive belt Make sure drive belt is correctly seated in grooves of belt pulley.
