52 13 405 Removing and installing / replacing head restraint panel on driver's and front passenger seats (manual / electric seat adjustment)

Necessary Preliminary Tasks: 

• Remove rear panel. Refer to 52 13 198 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING BACKWARD BACKREST PANEL ON LEFT OR RIGHT FRONT SEAT (NORMAL / MANUAL) .
• Remove head restraint.

Slide clasp of airbag retaining strap (1) in direction of arrow and release from strap (2).

Release side fixtures (3) of panel.

Release upper fixtures (4) of panel.

Release lower fixtures (5) of panel.

Seats with seat heating: 

Disconnect seat heating plug connector in backrest.

Feed through lower edge of panel between cushion and backrest frame.

Lift panel/padding out of frame.

Installation: 

Before installing the panel/padding, make sure the upholstery material is resting correctly on the backrest frame.
