51 47 450 Removing and installing/replacing complete carpet
Necessary Preliminary Tasks:
- Remove left/right front seat. Refer to 52 13 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVER'S OR FRONT PASSENGER SEAT (NORMAL / MANUAL) .
- Remove rear seat. Refer to 52 26 005 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING REAR SEAT .
- Remove front storage compartment. Refer to 51 16 200 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT CENTER CONSOLE .
- Remove rear storage compartment holder. Refer to 51 16 218 REMOVING AND INSTALLING / REPLACING REAR STORAGE COMPARTMENT HOLDER .
- Remove rear left/right side trim. Refer to 51 43 002 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR LEFT OR RIGHT SIDE TRIM PANEL .
- Remove inside entrance cover strip. Refer to 51 47 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT ENTRANCE COVER STRIP (INSIDE) .
- Remove adapter plate. Refer to 35 40 503 REPLACING ADAPTER PLATE .
Release screws (1).
Remove cover (2).
Unscrew nuts (1).
Feed cable (2) out of console (3) and remove console (3).
Release screw (5) and remove storage tray (4).
Slide connecting piece (1) upwards up to stop.
Remove carpet (1) first at rear towards top.
Pull back carpet (1) at front under heater (2).
NOTE:
A cut (3) is already provided in carpet (1).
Pay attention to cable when removing carpet (1).
If necessary, cut carpet (1) to feed out cable.
Installation:
Make sure openings for air duct and attachment points are correctly positioned.
