61 21 100 Removing and installing/replacing battery container
Necessary Preliminary Tasks:
- Remove suction filter housing. Refer to13 71 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INTAKE FILTER HOUSING .
- Remove battery. Refer to 61 21 010 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BATTERY .
- Disconnect plug connector from EMS/DME control unit. Refer to 12 14 550 REPLACING CONTROL UNIT (DME) .
Release screws (1) of battery container, tightening torque, refer to 61 21 3AZ in GENERAL ELECTRICAL SYSTEM - TIGHTENING TORQUE - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .
Remove inner fasteners (2) of battery container.
Release wiring harness retaining clips (3) in base of battery container.
