66 12 510 Removing and installing/replacing control unit for radio remote control (up to 07/2004)
NOTE:
As from 07/2004 the control unit for radio remote control (as in the Convertible) is integrated in the interior rearview mirror. Refer to 51 16 060 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING INTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR
.
Necessary Preliminary Tasks:
- Remove clock. Refer to 62 13 050 REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING CLOCK .
- Remove interior rear view mirror. Refer to 51 16 060 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING INTERIOR REARVIEW MIRROR .
- Remove counter-supports for sun visor on left and right. Refer to 51 16 080 REMOVING AND INSTALLING OR REPLACING SUNVISOR AND LEFT OR RIGHT COUNTER SUPPORT .
IMPORTANT:
Cover instrument panel trim to prevent screw/scrivets falling into air ducting.
Release threaded blind rivet (1).
NOTE:
As from 09/2001 threaded blind rivet (2) is replaced by a retaining clip (3).
Remove Torx screw (1).
Release threaded blind rivet (2) / retaining clip (3).
Installation:
Replace threaded blind rivet (2) with retaining clip (3).
