51 31 045 Removing and installing/replacing trim on A-pillar, left or right

IMPORTANT: After cementing the windscreen, at least 6 hours must be allowed to elapse before fitting the A-pillar trim covers (windscreen breakage).

Release door seal around A-pillar area.

Release screws (1 and 2).

Unclip trim in direction of arrow.

Installation:

The A-pillar trim cover must be behind the lower ornamental strip of the windscreen.

If necessary, release clips (2) from A-pillar (1).

Clips (2) and shaped part (3) must not be damaged.

Build date up to 09/2003:

Retrofit shaped part (3).

Installation:

If necessary, replace faulty nut inserts (1) on A-pillar (2).

If necessary, replace faulty clips (1) on trim (2).
