Disc Pads (Front): Removal

Detach retaining spring. See Fig 1. Remove plastic plugs. See Fig 2. Release guide screws and pull brake caliper toward rear to remove. See Fig 3. Tie up brake caliper to avoid strain on brake hose. Press piston fully back. See Fig 4. Remove outer and inner brake pads. See Fig 5. Inner brake lining is located with its spring in the piston.

NOTE: When pressing down piston, watch for overflowing brake fluid in brake fluid reservoir. New brake linings may only be installed if the measured brake disk thickness is greater than or equal to the minimum brake disk thickness.
