51 21 280 Removing and installing/replacing door arrester on left or right front door

Fully raise door window to end position.

Remove door trim panel. Refer to 51 41 000 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT LEFT OR RIGHT DOOR TRIM PANEL .

Disconnect battery negative lead. Refer to 12 00 DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING BATTERY .

Secure front door in completely open position.

Release seal (1) from fasteners (3).

Release Torx screws (2) and (3).

1. (2) Tightening torque, refer to 51 21 6AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .
2. (3) Tightening torque, refer to 51 21 7AZ in BODY EQUIPMENT - TIGHTENING TORQUES - COOPER (1.6L) R50/W10 .

Remove door arrester.

Installation: 

Check following parts of door arrester before installation:

1. Hinge.
2. Thread.
3. Seal (1).
