Wheel Bearings: Removal

  1. Raise vehicle and remove wheel. To remove center hub nut and washer, place a pry bar under one lug nut and over the other. See Fig 1. Discard hub nut.

  2. Release brake shoe self-adjuster (if necessary) and remove brake drum retaining clip. Remove brake drum. Remove drive flange using Puller (D81L-1002-A). Use wire to support brake assembly. Remove 4 bearing hub attaching bolts and bearing hub.
