Disassembly (Rear)

  1. Using Piston Adapter (T87P-2588-A), rotate piston counterclockwise until it protudes .80" (20 mm) from caliper bore. Disengage dust boot from caliper. Remove piston and dust boot. Remove snap ring from piston. See Fig 1 .
  2. Remove adjusting nut, washers and thrust bearing. Note adjusting nut seal position and remove. Remove piston seal. Remove snap ring from caliper housing. Remove washer, spring and spring cover.
  3. Remove snap ring retaining key plate. Remove adjuster and key plate. Remove and discard "O" ring from adjuster. Remove parking brake strut. Disconnect parking brake lever return spring. Remove stop bolt. Remove lever and shaft. Remove shaft seal. Using an internal puller, remove shaft bushing (if necessary).
